San Fernando Renaissance

Jesse Garcia and Jesus Ochoa

10 years ago San Fernando Lodge # 365 was slowly dying like so many other lodges. Their building was dingy and most people only knew it for the church that met there. In the decade since, the lodge has completely transformed itself into the social and fraternal hub of the San Fernando, California. Brothers Jesus Ochoa and Jesse Garcia join us to talk about the transformation of their lodge and what they’ve done to bring it about.

Rebuilding A Grand Lodge

Michael Zurell

Michael Zurell was initiated into Rockville Centre Lodge # 279 on November 9, 2000 and became a Past Grand on October 1, 2008. He is presently the Grand Master of New York. He is also a Past Chief Patriarch of Integrity Encampment # 158, an active Chevalier in Clifford G.W. Shepard Canton #1, a member of Garden Rebekah Lodge # 564, and an associate member of Mineola-Pacific Lodge # 125.

He resides in Jamaica Estates, New York and is the managing partner of a tech startup. In his free time he enjoys golf and kayaking in addition to attending baseball and college basketball games as well as rock concerts.

Erik Fearing is a member of Friendship Lodge # 20 in Belmont, Massachusetts. He shares his perspective and wonderful insights into what has helped transform his lodge from a struggling group barely making a quorum to an active beacon of Odd Fellowship for the greater Boston and New England at large.
